Heads sold exchanged are guaranteed for 180 days from date of sale. The warranty is limited to the replacement of the head only. If the head has a problem that is determined by Dover Cylinder Head Service, Inc. to be ours, we will pay a good will labor rate of $25.00 per hour not to exceed 10 hours. We will also supply or purchase a head gasket set. No warranty on any damage to the car, engine or driver and no towing or car rental will be paid. Labor will only be paid if approval is given before the head is removed and only after being tested by Dover Cylinder Head Services, Inc. and found to be defective. Heads not found defective will be returned to you.

Loss of Guarantee: The loss of any guarantee or warranty for the reasons listed below.

- Heat tabs: A metal disk with a lead center that melts out at 250 degrees F. The loss of a heat tab or the center melting out will void any and all warranty.

- Oil: Heads run without or lack of oil or with dirt (bearing material) in the oil voids any and all warranty. The final say on whether or not the damage was done by lack of oil is determined by Dover Cylinder Head Service, Inc. Cam bearing failure is due to lack of oil.

- Valves: Valves bent due to shipping are not covered other than the replacement of the valve before the head is installed. Valves bent after the installation are not the fault of Dover Cylinder Head Service, Inc. and will not be covered.

- Cams: Cams run with a lack of oil will void any warranty. Cams installed in exchanged heads are used cams in good condition and are guaranteed usable.

Unacceptable core returns consist of incomplete cylinder heads (bare heads, no cam or rocker arm assemblies). A reduction of one half core charge will be assessed to any cores not returned complete.

This head is reconditioned, that means this head was built with used (reconditioned) parts. Parts that is still serviceable, but not new. Most heads have been welded or repaired. We strive to maintain the highest quality of work possible with the latest equipment available. New valve seats have been installed when needed. All heads have been vacuum checked after completion to insure proper sealing. All valves are reground or replaced as necessary and valve springs are checked for proper installed pressure. Heads are painted to prevent rust.

Please look before installing. Is this the correct head? We strive to provide the correct head upon initial order, however mistakes can happen. Compare the head with the head removed from the vehicle and check everything to be sure it is correct. Many heads have the same casting number but will not work on your vehicle because of different bolt patterns. Is the valve cover going to fit? Is there a hole for the fuel pump? Is there an opening for all your sending units? Now is the time to be sure, not after it is bolted to the block. The final check is the installer’s responsibility. WE WILL NOT PAY LABOR FOR REMOVAL OF THE WRONG HEAD.

Please check the cooling system, radiator, radiator fan, water pump, fuel injection system, ignition timing, exhaust system for blockage, engine sensors, both fuel and timing, fan belts and anything that has or will cause the engine to over heat. Cylinder heads are like fuses in the electrical system. They blow because of an external problem but are very seldom the cause of the problem.
